Mrs. Lori Warmka is the Physical Education and
Health teacher. She lives here in Beaver Dam with her husband Matt, an
SKDS alum, and her four children. Shania, also an alum, is at BDHS.
Aiden, Shelby, and Quinn are all currently SKDS students. She has
taught at a home daycare, then at the catholic school in Fond du Lac for
five years before moving to Beaver Dam. She decided to do the work/stay
at home mom combo for the next ten years by subbing in Beaver Dam and
Waupun. Mrs. Warmka also taught summer school for the last ten years in
Waupun. She enjoys most sports, with her favorite being volleyball.
Other interests of hers include reading, walking, running, doing crafts,
watching movies, camping, and spending time with her family.
Lori grew up in Fond du Lac and
attended both Carroll University and UW-Oshkosh, where she obtained a
total of three licenses in the areas of Physical Education, Health, and
Elementary Education. She chose education because it was combining her
love of children with her love of sports and sharing her knowledge and
skills with people. She enjoys the challenge of trying to get all
people, especially children, to enjoy lifetime fitness activities. Her
favorite thing about teaching is knowing she is making a difference in
someone’s life. She really likes watching her students enjoy exercising
and learning-and being able to play with them! The staff and families
that she works with are an added bonus!
Mrs. Warmka’s favorite quotation
is the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you want done unto you. You will
find this quote hanging in the gym! Her words of advice are: Try, try,
and try again-Never Give Up!
