Ms. Jackie Lockwood is an SKDS alum. She went to St.
Pat’s for all 8 years. She is certified to teach Special Education,
Elementary Education, and Reading. Currently she is attending Marian
University to get an Early Childhood certification. Jackie taught
Special Education in the public school system for 15 years. She enjoyed
teaching in small groups and trying a lot of teaching styles to meet
every student’s individual needs. Jackie said, "The best part of
teaching is when you see that light-bulb go on in the student’s eyes. "
Jackie took 12 years off and worked in retail. She enjoyed that, but
realized she wanted to go back into teaching. While she was in retail,
she was also a substitute teacher for SKDS and tutored students
Jackie has one grown son, Bradley. He attended SKDS and is currently in
the workforce. They adopted him from Romania when he was 3 years old.
He grew and learned so much by attending SKDS. He loved school and
making others laugh.
Jackie says, “I am so excited to be the Reading Resource and Learning
Differences Teacher. Reading is such a crucial part of every person’s
life. You can discover so many things in books. I will give every
student I have 100% of my knowledge and expertise in the reading area.
