will be starting my first year at St. Katharine Drexel School teaching
Spanish and co-teaching the Language Arts and Reading program with Mrs.
Peggy Scott. It is with great anticipation and excitement that I
begin my career with the students, parents, and faculty at SKDS.
I grew up in Beaver Dam, and
moved to the Milwaukee area in order to finish my studies in Spanish
Language and Culture and obtained my Teacher Certification in 2010 from
UW Milwaukee. After completing my student teaching in MPS, I
volunteered in elementary classrooms teaching Spanish. After the
birth of our third child, my family moved to Beaver Dam, where I
recently finished teaching Spanish for the BDUSD summer school program.
I also volunteer at the Beaver Dam Community Library teaching Spanish
and I am involved in the library's Spanish/English Conversation Club on
Apart from teaching, I am a
mother of four beautiful and amazing children who keep me busy! As
a mother, I am constantly reminded of how precious life is. I also
enjoy reading, taking long walks, and spending time outdoors with my
family and friends.
I chose teaching because of the
incredible rewards it brings. Like everyone here at SKDS, I enjoy
spending time learning and growing with children. Teaching is a
passion for me and I hope to be doing it for a long time.
Three of my favorite quotes:
"Our lives begin to end the day
we become silent about things that matter." -Martin Luther King
"Enjoy the little things in
life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big
things." -Robert Brault
"Keep calm and carry on." ("Mantén
la calma y continúa") -Orig. pub. British Gov. 1939
